Alan's birthday week 2019

On our way back to Barbados from Barcelona we made a long detour to the Azores via Porto. Coming from Cape Cod, I grew up in a community with many descendants of Portuguese immigrants from the Azores but I really had no idea what to expect (except lots of Pastéis de Nata.) The landscape is astonishingly beautiful and the main town, Ponta Delgada, is charming. Well worth the visit.

Here’s a few pics from my Google Photos library (using the quirky API I just discovered): The first few are misty, rusty, Porto then the green ones are Azores. Think Iceland, only really, really green.
